What is "1000 Breaths"

On the last day of the year in 2010 and 2011, a special event called "1000 Breaths" awakened audiences to their own innate power of freedom as well as supported a movement to free the enslaved children trapped into a prostituted lifestyle they do not truly choose.

What started as the 1000 Breaths fundraiser event has become a movement for the freedom of us all. This blog expands now to encompass all the good works being done in the name of "freedom for all" as heard on the "FREEDOM FOR ALL" Internet Radio show.

Stopping Youth Violence

Today's show was a special one. We were joined by Tasreen Khamisa - a mother of three, a faithful sister and a woman with a mission. The day of this interview's recording was January 21, 2016 which marked the 21st anniversary of her brother Tariq's murder. After Tariq was senselessly gunned down in a gang-related ambush while he was delivering pizzas in North Park San Diego, their father Azim Khamisa founded TKF, The Tariq Khamisa Foundation. This foundation - which stops youth violence through education, mentorship and restorative practice programs - has impacted millions of children worldwide teaching the principles of nonviolence and peace. Tasreen has guided the foundation as Executive Director two times - 1998 to 2003 and December 2014 to the present. Listen in as she speaks about her brother, the foundation and a purpose that drives her.
