When Dr. Gregory H.
Tefft’s publicist contacted me I was all over this. Divine timing. The
publicity materials say, “Your hair is the key to your health puzzle, finding
exactly what nutrients will restore your health." For close to a year, my
hair has been not as full as it once was and not as vibrant. Dr. Tefft wrote a
book called “Your Personal Life: Measuring What Your Body Needs to Live Lean,
Long, Strong, and Better."
Dr. Tefft states in the
book that you are not what you eat but instead what you retain from what you
eat. I have always been a believer that everybody is different and there is no
eating plan that is a fit for everyone. I think that is a huge reason why
“diets” fail. If you were eating what your body needs to feel well you’d stick
with it because you’d feel fabulous. So how do you figure out what nutrients
are lacking and what ones you have in excess? Dr. Tefft uses one lock of hair –
ONE! So why not blood work? Why hair? I bet you're thinking that because I know
I was. From what I understand our blood fluctuates where our hair is more
reliable as a biopsy specimen.
Dr. Tefft’s book talks
about the Seven Health Obstacles, the best and worst foods for balancing your
metabolism, our biggest wellness mistakes, and many eye-opening reality checks.
