What is "1000 Breaths"

On the last day of the year in 2010 and 2011, a special event called "1000 Breaths" awakened audiences to their own innate power of freedom as well as supported a movement to free the enslaved children trapped into a prostituted lifestyle they do not truly choose.

What started as the 1000 Breaths fundraiser event has become a movement for the freedom of us all. This blog expands now to encompass all the good works being done in the name of "freedom for all" as heard on the "FREEDOM FOR ALL" Internet Radio show.

Inner Freedom

Today we spoke with Rachael Johnson on the Freedom for All Radio Show. Rachael began exploring healing arts and meditation in 2003, after a series of intense and transformational life events. On the show she discussed the little known turning point event in her life that she rarely shares, as well as the pathway that lead her on the high road.

Rachael is an apprentice of the esoteric Taoist practices of the KUNLUN® System. Rachael's early years were blessed by living in the solitude of rural Southern California. Rather than attending school, she had the opportunity to discover the voice and rhythms of nature through nearly uninterrupted immersion. Her time spent in trees and wandering the creek beds was a far higher education than some may imagine.

While attending college at New York University, Rachael became deeply committed to her spiritual awakening, being initiated onto her path through a series powerful dreams and ego-shattering experiences. During this time she delved into the art of sound healing by playing weekly concerts with the Himalayan Voices at Alex Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (COSM). She has been performing since 2005, and has played at the New York City Museum of Water, the Celebration of Oneness in Los Angeles, and at various yoga studios and hot springs around the country.  Rachael currently has a private healing practice in Leucadia, CA, and holds weekly KUNLUN classes in the San Diego area at www.meetup.com/kunlunSD/

A Mom On a Mission

As we are both 20-year vegetarians, Jim and I were excited to welcome activist Barbara Cole to the show today. Barbara is a mom on a mission.

She spoke in-depth about the policies affecting our children's health, in regards to meals at school and the need for plant-based diet.

Barbara's early advocacy on the PTA grew into a CA Statewide coalition that PASSED - with astounding support - the 2003 "Healthy Vegetarian School Lunch Act," urging the CA schools to serve daily plant-based vegetarian school lunches options.

After some time off to focus on family, she founded Lean and Green Kids in 2009, a non-profit children's health education organization. Since its founding, Lean and Green Kids programs have reached thousands of students in the classroom, the cafeteria, and the community. Lean and Green Kids' advocacy efforts have helped change school food and shape policy at the local, state, and national level.

Most recently, she has written a big, beautiful children's nutrition book for the classroom, SuperFoods to Save the Planet.

The Freedom of Spontaneity

So, we had our own impromptu moment. Ah, the freedom of spontaneity.

Our regularly scheduled guest was unable to make the show so Jim and I did our own "Freedom For All" show, covering Hot Topics such as self-healing, whisteblowers, government control, the power and corruption of journalism and news that broadcasts a crappy, crappy world. Though it may not sound like it, this was an uplifting show. Check it out:  http://www.blogtalkradio.com/freedomforall/2013/08/02/freedom-hot-topics
